Sometimes we need to make slight adjustments to our budgets to take into account your circumstances. Contact us to speak to one of our specialist advisers.

To complete a budget, you will need your business income and outgoing figures for at least the last three months. You will also need details of any personal income and essential living costs. Depending on your situation, we may also need to ask you for extra details. See below for some examples.

If you have a buy-to-let property and are also employed, we will ask whether the tax for the buy-to-let profit is taken with your PAYE or not. If you have a buy-to-let property and another business, it will be helpful to have both sets of figures available.

If you pay tax through CIS, we will usually need your income figures after the CIS tax payment has been taken by the contractor.

If you have more than one job, we will need to know your total gross PAYE income (before tax and national insurance is taken) as well as your take home pay.

If you are over State Pension age, we will ask whether you have a pension income and how this is being taxed. For example, if you have a private pension, tax may be taken from your private pension payment before you are paid. If this is the case, we will need to know your gross private pension amount (before tax) as well as what you receive after tax has been taken.

If you are a foster carer, you will need to ask your accountant or bookkeeper for an estimate of the tax you will need to pay before you call us.

If you are a share fisherman, we will need to know whether you use the voluntary tax budgeting scheme. We will also need your gross business income figures (before any money is taken for the tax budgeting scheme).

As your partnership has 5 or more partners we will need to make adjustments to our budget. We will need to know what percentage share of the partnership profits each partner gets. Contact us to speak to one of our specialist advisers.
